CMPL 303 - Imagined Community: Literature and NationhoodFC ARHU CD WADV 4 credits This course studies a selection of modern literary works from Europe, Africa, and East Asia and examines how imperial nationalism, anti-colonial nationalism, and nativist consciousness are portrayed in literature. In performing close readings of the texts, the class examines the imagination of community in specific cultural and historical contexts.
