CRWR 252 - Poetry: Travel, Mobility, and Movement

This course will focus on the creative expression of movement and travel in poetry, exploring both literal and metaphorical journeys, departures and returns, and boundaries and transgressions. We will examine both intentional and unplanned passages, ranging from travels motivated by desire, necessity, or coercion across continents to those within a neighborhood or even within the interior of the mind and body. Our understanding of travel will encompass not only physical location but also social, political, and cultural contexts, flights of imagination, and mental and physical limitations. Throughout this module, we will examine the multifaceted aspects of travel and mobility and their significance to the subjects and structures of our poetry.
