PSYC 315 - Advanced Methods in Qualitative Research

Students will gain experience exploring qualitative research questions, collecting and analyzing data with a variety of qualitative methodologies used in psychology, and writing research reports in the style and format of the American Psychological Association. Qualitative approaches may include thematic analysis, phenomenology, grounded theory, narrative analysis, and participatory action research. We will discuss the philosophical assumptions that underlie qualitative research, as well as the strengths and limitations of qualitative research methods.

Prerequisites: PSYC 100 and PSYC 200.
