ENVS 202 - Introduction to Urban Studies Analytics

This course will introduce how cities grow, operate, and how they can be improved, with an emphasis on environmental justice and data analytics using Google Earth Engine. We will examine how cities affect the environment locally and globally, including common challenges faced by cities, such as pollution and congestion. We will delve into the deeply-rooted and persistent problems of inequality. Finally, we’ll explore how to plan future cities using smart data-driven policies and innovative solutions. Although students will use Google Earth Engine extensively, no prior coding experience is required to join the course.
